7th December 2012

Another unseasonably warm day in Cedar City so another Trek ride at the Three Peaks Rec Area. Today I decided to try and follow the Race Course from the start which means winding through the fenced area at Three Peaks before getting out into the open country. Biff was very lively and immediately attacked the water bottles in the carrier as soon as we got going, bad dog! After we discussed that it was off up the hill, gentle at first then steeper as we reach the Big Hole range.

Once I reached the top I stopped for a couple of minutes to take some pictures, lighting conditions were harsh!.
Southeast to Cedar City, the ride starts out there on the flats in the trees somewhere.

Looking northwest across the Escalante Desert. Out there over the distant mountain range is Nevada.

The mini ouch occurred as I was getting back on the bike and caught my pedal on a rock.
The tree ouch occurred on a downhill when a juniper stuck out a branch and knocked me off - no blood no pictures!
