Sunrise on the Anthill was magnificent.

Today we walked from the "Second Crossing" along the sandy road, snowy today, that leads out to the Velvet Ridge. We turned towards the mountains and wandered up to "Third Crossing" continuing on upwards into the alcove where the lone water well is. There has been a lot of erosion in that area and we had to find our way around several wash crossings that had been blown out.

Weather moving in towards us on Thousand Lake Mountain.

Biff and Frikka on their ice rink, the water has built up behind an ice dam and formed a pond where it normally flows freely. Last year the ice didn't completely go away from this point until April.

We walked a total of 4 miles, at least I did, the dogs went considerably further.
This KMZ file will show the route in Google Earth.

I may have gone a bit overboard with my new slideshow toy - hope the page doesn't take TOO long to load!
